Dream Serenade summer bursary update

Due to limited funding this year we had to reduce the scope of our Summer Bursary program, but thanks to generous donations from our incredible community we were still able to assist some families. This spring Dream Serenade worked with 7 Social Workers from across the GTA to identify 25 families most in need of the Dream Serenade Bursary. We are happy that funds could still go to those who need it the most and look forward to our fundraising concert in the fall so we can get back to supporting as many families as possible next spring.

You can help us get our usual Summer Bursary program back at full capacity by making an online donation or buying a ticket to this year’s Dream Serenade on November 12 at Massey Hall. Thank you for your continued support!

We're back! Tickets for Dream Serenade 2022 on sale this Friday

2022 Dream Serenade Benefit Concert poster

Dear Friends,

After two uncertain and often difficult years, we’re so happy to announce the in-person return of Dream Serenade at Massey Hall on Saturday, Nov 12, 2022. As with many vulnerable groups, the pandemic created a whole new set of obstacles for our community of children with exceptionalities and their caregivers. With your support through ticket sales, the donation page, and our silent auction, we’re hoping to raise a record amount for much needed summer camp bursaries this year. Our virtual Dream Serenade in 2020 was an incredible night exceeding our expectations, but there’s nothing like all celebrating together, and we’re so excited to return to the newly renovated Massey Hall. We’re currently working on the musical line-up, but if you’ve been to a Dream Serenade before, you know it won’t disappoint.

Tickets will be on sale here on Friday at 10am est.

With love and appreciation,

Hayden and Christie

Now accepting applications for the Family Relief Summer 2021 Bursary

Last year, we took our usual Dream Serenade concert online and created a series of fundraising events that included an online merch shop, virtual auction and livestream concert. The continued spirit and generosity of our community through these fundraising activities have allowed us to continue our annual Bursary program — thank you!

The Family Relief Summer 2021 Bursary is an initiative from Dream Serenade intended to provide financial support for Toronto students with exceptionalities and their families during the coming Summer months. Applications are now open.

Who can apply?

Any Toronto District School Board student with a developmental disability who is enrolled in an Intensive Support Program and/or a congregated school is eligible. Bursaries will be awarded on a first come-first served basis as available funding remains, with priority to first-time Bursary recipients.

How do you apply?

Easy-to-complete applications are available now through the ‘Bursary’ tab on the Dream Serenade website, through your school Principals or social workers.

How much is available?

A $300 bursary is available per eligible child per household and may be used towards expenses related to food, caregiving, supplies and equipment needed during this time.

When do I apply?

Applications are being accepted now and as available funding remains, and may be submitted online or through your school principal/assigned social worker. Please direct any further questions to dreamserenadetoronto@gmail.com.

Wishing you all a safe and smiling summer,
Dream Serenade Team
